Senior Practice Associate Glenn Harper is an independent researcher in the field of 20th century architecture and has a professed inclination towards the conservation of Brutalist buildings. He runs a dedicated Instagram account @brutalist_project_sydney and undertakes public commentary on the qualities of brutalist buildings. This social activism culminated in the award of the 2015 Byrea Hadley Scholarship to study brutalist buildings.
He was invited to conduct two public tours for the Architect’s Registration Board of NSW Sydney Architecture Festival: Sydney, you’re brutal: The New World and Sydney, you’re brutal: the old quarter, in 2018.
Also Glenn has prepared two entries within the book: Lewi, H. and Goad, P. (Editors), Australia Modern (2019), Thames and Hudson, Melbourne and was previously invited to edit two architectural map guides for Blue Crow Media, London, UK: Melbourne Concrete Map (2019) and Brutalist Sydney Map (2017).
