Campbelltown Sportsground Redevelopment

The masterplan included a new IAAF standard synthetic athletics track which was constructed in time for pre-games training requirements in January 1999. A new 5,000 seat eastern grandstand was constructed on a new landform concept that involved the creation of grassed berms at the northern and southern ends to maximize spectator numbers cost effectively. The overall program for the stadium was to provide NRL standard for 20,000 spectators, new amenities and playing surface for players, new media facilities, and provide 26 new corporate boxes catering for up to 25 corporate users each.

A masterplan was developed with key stakeholders to allow staged redevelopment of the project. Due to budget constraints the refurbishment and expansion of the existing stand was deferred until funding became available and that part of the project has been implemented in 2008 – 2009.
