55 Pitt Street Competition

The competition site is part of the block bounded by Alfred Street, Pitt Street, Dalley Street and George Street in Sydney’s CBD. The block forms an important part of the financial, professional and business services core of central Sydney, and by extension plays a critical role in the continued growth and economic success of Sydney and Australia more broadly.

This project presented an opportunity to fulfil the vision for that part of central Sydney by delivering premium-grade commercial floor space that showcases environmental sustainability and delivers substantial public benefit through public domain improvements, includes new pedestrian connections and activates ground floor retail uses.

In the capacity of the Executive Architect, PTW was selected with the lead designer Renzo Piano Building Workshop and Adam Guernier Architects, as one of the six invited competitors for the 50 storey, 70,000m2 GFA tower.
