Mark Giles Speaks on Adaptive Reuse at Sydney Build Expo 2025

Senior Practice Associate Mark Giles (second from the right) appeared on a panel at this year's Sydney Build Expo, for the topic of "Urban (Re)Development: Tackling Sydney's Housing Crisis Through Adaptive Reuse," alongside (from left to right, exc. Mark Giles) Andrew O'Donnell, Director - Allford Hall Monaghan Morris; Sophie Solomon, Principal - SSD Studio; and Phillip Rossington, Principal - BVN.

The panel raised important points, including the extensive investigations of the existing building, spatial constraints, and improvements to meet current compliance criteria. Another pertinent topic was considering current new build projects as suitable for future adaptive reuse.

We thank all the other panelists for an informative and engaging discussion that we hope will raise awareness about the opportunities adaptive reuse projects present.
