Station Street Masterplan

Our urban vision for the redevelopment of the former Panasonic Industrial site was to create a new residential neighbourhood in close proximity to Penrith’s open space park network. In acknowledgement of this redevelopment the masterplan respected the significance of the area including the city’s urban vibrancy adjacent to the Blue Mountains. The built form massing provided new publicly accessible mid-block links and open space areas, which achieved a fine grain urbanity suitable for Penrith’s revitalised city centre.

The entire development had the intent of creating a residential neighbourhood with a focus on landscape connections and a memorable and diverse experience of open space. As part of a landscape network that was open to all, a rich landscape system offers amenity and interest for residents and passers by. This landscape system was defined by a choreography of landscape characters that created the sense of journeys through the development. As part of the masterplan, PTW documented a site specific DCP and site specific design guidelines.
