Atlassian Sydney Innovation Precinct

A first part of the Sydney Technology Precinct, located adjacent to Central Station and identified as the Central Precinct, the new Atlassian Tower presented itself as the catalyst and anchor for future developments. The project’s aim was to deliver the city’s strategic vision and support creating and defining a holistic vision for the public realm, reinforce the site and its adjacent public spaces as the ‘Gateway’ to the Technology Precinct.

The design competition in response to Atlassian’s aspiration of creating a ground-breaking and premium workplace that is leading edge in terms of environmental sustainability, including:

  • Reduction of embodied carbon during construction by utilising hybrid timber construction and reduction of running costs through the use of high efficiency operational systems.
  • High levels of indoor air and environmental quality by addressing the life cycle benefits of sustainability strategies, exceeds very high-level benchmarks for Environmentally and Socially Sustainable Design.
  • Creation of naturally ventilated spaces and protected landscape terraces in workplace to reduce/streamline conventional mechanically controlled indoor climate zones.
