82-84 Dixon Street
PTW have designed student accommodation at 82-84 Dixon Street, Haymarket. Existing heritage buildings have been sensitively incorporated into the retail podium of this 17-storey tower in the heart of Chinatown that will house 336 student rooms.
The north facing façade with extensive glazing incorporating sun shading and vertical blades maximise views and light, yet minimise heat gain and glare while maintaining privacy.
The DA approval was “carried unanimously“ by the Central Sydney Planning Committee. The City of Sydney Council’s comments about the proposal referenced high quality design that incorporates fine grain architecture which is considered to be in keeping and complementary to Haymarket and Chinatown’s special character.
